Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 June 2026.

This policy covers every project listed here — ashaar.js, ashaar.js for Word, the LigaCheh Keyboard on all platforms, and the FatemiMaqala and Kanz al-Marjaan fonts — as well as this website.

By default, I do not collect any data from anyone. None of these projects collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. There are no analytics, no advertising, and no accounts. The one and only exception is the Lisān OCR tool, and only when you explicitly opt in — described below.

Lisān OCR

The Lisān OCR tool runs entirely in your browser. The image you load is processed on your device and is not sent anywhere as part of recognition.

Separately, the page offers an optional, off-by-default way to help improve the model. Only if you tick the consent box and press “Contribute correction” is anything sent: the image you loaded and your corrected text are uploaded to an open Lisān ud-Daʿwat OCR training set so the recogniser can be improved. If you never opt in, nothing leaves your device. Please don’t contribute images or text that are private or sensitive — contributed data may be used to train and openly distribute OCR models.

On your device

Where a tool keeps anything (for example, the keyboard’s on-device personalization that improves its suggestions), it stays on your device and is never sent anywhere. You can clear it at any time from within the app.

The keyboard and “Full Access”

The LigaCheh keyboard types without “Allow Full Access.” Full Access is optional and is used only to share your settings and on-device personalization between the keyboard and its companion app. The keyboard makes no network requests with your typing or any personal data.

This site is static and uses no cookies, no analytics, and no trackers. It is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may keep standard server access logs outside of my control; I do not add any tracking of my own.
